The Royal Oak is under new management since July 2012 and has undergone a major refurbishment both inside and outside in its large and tranquil beer garden. The Pig & Whistle is now being managed bySimon Rogan - a recently refurbished traditional small pub offering B&B accommodation and fantastic food, with a sheltered beer gardens.
Alternatively, you can dine at Simon Rogan's Michelin Star restaurant, L'Enclume, and stay in one of their beautifully furnished modern rooms.
Aynsome Manor Hotel is a family run 17th century Manor House on the outskirts of the village.
Situated opposite the Cavendish Arms, just through the arch on the square, you will find Flats 2 and 4 in Tower House. Both flats have all the modern amenities for a relaxing stay. Or you can choose to stay at Cark Manor Stables - a beautiful semi-detached cottage, on the edge of the pretty streamside village of Cark. Set in its own private and spacious grounds, this self-catering cottage offers 3 ground floor bedrooms sleeping 2-4 people (up to 6 on special request), and one bathroom. The owners are currently restoring Beckside Stables, a former working stable and tack-room, into an exquisite and charming little retreat to open later in 2012. Cartmel Caravan and Camping Park has new owners, Andrew Cretney & Zarina Wace, and it is conveniently situated only a two minute walk from the village.
