Welcome to the official website for the vibrant historic village of Cartmel. This unspoilt village is situated in a quiet valley in one of England’s most outstanding areas of natural beauty.

Offering stunning views of the South Lakeland District fells and countryside, Cartmel has grown up around its famous 12th Century medieval Priory. It is a special place where ancient history and tradition mingle effortlessly with the present day.

CARTMEL WINS BLOOMING MARVELOUS TROPHIES AT CUMBRIA IN BLOOM 2011
Green-fingered representatives from Cartmel's Village Society and Cartmel Allotment Association returned home with a car full of trophies after the Cumbria In Bloom Award ceremony on Monday night!
